The documentary film that tells the story of Moshe Bejski, the man who for many years was the President of the Israeli Commission in charge of preserving the memory of those who helped save the lives of Jews during the Shoah, will be screened by the Italian Cultural Institute in San Francisco from 27 January to 6 February to celebrate the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
“Il Giudice dei Giusti’’ (The Judge of the Righteous), written by Gabriele Nissim together with Emanuela Audisio, and directed by Enrico Marchese, is based on the book “Il Tribunale del bene” by Gabriele Nissim. Polish-born Bejski is one of the Jews saved by renowned Oskar Schindler. After migrating to Israel at the end of World War II, Bejski decided to commit himself to the “quest” for the righteous and, over the years of his activity as member of the Commission, he analysed millions of cases, contributing to the development of the Garden the city of Jerusalem dedicated to the “Righteous Among the Nations”.
