“La lettrice di Čechov”, incontro con l’autrice

La lettrice di Čechov: a meeting with Giulia Corsalini” is the title of a conference to be held at the Italian Cultural Institute of Cologne on 20 January (7:00 pm), organised together with the Italian Cultural Institutes of Berlin and Hamburg.

For the occasion, author Giulia Corsalini shall present her debut novel, “La lettrice di Čechov” – published in Italy in 2018 by Nottetempo and published, in German, by Non solo Verlag in September 2021 – while talking with Reinhold Joppich, who will also read some significant excerpts of the German language version.

Giulia Corsalini lives in Recanati, she is a high school teacher and has written a number of literary criticism essays. Her novel “La lettrice di Čechov” won the Mondello international literary award, the SuperMondello award, Gli Asini award and the Bergamo National Narrative Award. In 2020, Nottetempo also published her novel “Kolja. Una storia familiare”.

Reinhold Joppich has extensive experience in the publishing sector. After working at the Herder bookshop in Rome, he worked for a long time as sales and distribution manager for the Cologne-based publisher Kiepenheuer & Witsch. He has been touring Germany, Switzerland and Austria for decades, along with singer Mario Di Leo, holding several Italian musical-literary events.
