The Italian Consulate General in New York and the Italian Cultural Institute opened “Ancient Treasures from Italy”, an exhibition containing 40 artifacts from the Etruscan, Greco-Roman and Italic civilizations.

The artifacts are a selection of archaeological finds that were returned to the Italian Consulate General by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office last 15 December as part of a broader operation to return to Italy artifacts illegally smuggled or transported into the United States, carried out in collaboration with the Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Corps of the Carabinieri. The exhibition will be open to the public every Friday from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM until the 25th of February. Admission to the exhibition will only be allowed by appointment through the Consulate’s main entrance on 690 Park Avenue. For further information, click here.
