The exhibition “Diva! Italian glamour in fashion jewellery” has been inaugurated at the National Gallery of Fine Arts of Amman, Jordan’s most prestigious exhibition venue. The display, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and set up in Jordan by the Italian Embassy, is curated by Alba Cappellieri, tenured professor at the Milan Polytechnic and Director of Vicenza’s Jewellery Museum.

A collection of some 200 items is showcased, illustrating the history of Italian fashion jewellery, how style has evolved and the social and cultural transformations the country has undergone from the 1950s to present day. The exhibition also pays homage to the creativity of Italian craftsmanship and highlights the search for innovative techniques and materials.

The inauguration ceremony was attended, among others, by Her Royal Highness, Princess Wijdan Al-Hashem (who chairs the Board of Directors of the Royal Society of Fine Arts), ambassadors, cultural attachés and local representatives of the artistic and cultural spheres. The exhibition will be open to the general public until 26 February.
