On the occasion of European Music Day, the Italian Cultural Institute in Barcelona, the Institut Culturel Français, and the Goethe Institut organized a special concert featuring three eminent jazz musicians from the three countries: Italian saxophonist Sophia Tomelleri, French drummer Julie Saury, and German bassist Lisa-Rebecca Wulff.
The trio will be accompanied by the student orchestra of the Catalonia College of Music ESMUC. The concert is the first project of the new EUNIC Cluster in Barcelona which, in addition to the three founding institutes, will welcome the other European cultural institutions present in Catalonia and the other regions in Eastern Spain.
Italian saxophonist Sophia Tomelleri graduated from the “G. Verdi” conservatoire in Milan and then attended the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater München” in Munich. She is an eclectic musician, ranging from more traditional to contemporary jazz.
