The Italian Embassy in Tripoli has announced that “starting from the academic year 2022/23, the Italian language will be an optional subject for Libyan students in secondary schools”, pointing out that this is “the tangible implementation of a Memorandum signed in 2020”, resulting from “the joint efforts of the Italian and Libyan Ministries of Education”.
“The first group, consisting of 60 Libyan teachers, studied in Italy, at the Ca’ Foscari University in Venice”, the Embassy points out, adding that “soon, 30 more teachers will attend the training course at the University for Foreigners of Siena”.
