On the eleventh stop of its long journey around the world, the “Magister Raffaello” exhibition opens in the splendid halls of the Italian Cultural Institute in Madrid, where it will run until 15 January, 2023.

The exhibition, organised to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Raphael’s death, is curated by art historian Claudio Strinati with co-curator Federico Strinati and the support of a Scientific Committee of international standing made up of some of the most distinguished scholars in the field of Raphael studies. “Magister Raphael” is conceived as an unprecedented experiential novel organized around six key works by the great Renaissance master.
Inside the six thematic areas, visitors will be able to walk through the life and places where Raphael lived and worked and learn about “his world” through his masterpieces as well as works by  rtists, scholars, and philosophers who interacted with his work over time: actors and extras who people an ideal stage transfigured into the exhibition.
The contents of the exhibition are available in three languages (Italian, Spanish and English) and are organized into two separate paths: one for adults and one for children. The exhibition can also be toured through an audioguide or through a special app that can be downloaded free of charge on the visitors’ smartphones.
The contents for children consist also of original texts and illustrations by Eva Montanari, an author and illustrator who has been publishing children’s books since 2000 all over the world. The music accompanying the narrative is by Antonio Fresa, a musician and composer who is also the author of award-winning film soundtracks.
Designed by Magister Art, “Magister Raffaello” is an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, organised in Madrid by the Italian Cultural Institute in partnership with ENIT- – National Tourism Board, under the aegis of the Italian Embassy in Madrid.
