The Ambassador of Italy to Croatia, Pierfrancesco Sacco, inaugurated at the Rector’s Palace in Zadar the exhibition “Il mestiere delle Arti in Italia, Capolavori da Palazzo Madama” (The Craft of Arts in Italy, Masterpieces from Palazzo Madama).

The exhibition -among the most important art events organised by Italy in Croatia in recent years- includes more than 100 fine pieces from the permanent collection of Turin’s Palazzi Civici, housed at Palazzo Madama. The collection includes masterpieces of Italian craftsmanship from the Late Middle Ages to the 17th century, including Murano glass, chiselled iron of Lombard production, the famous porcelain of Naples, cabinet making, and wood and ivory micro carving.

The exhibition will also show the connections between Italy and Croatia in the area of manufacturing, as the collection from Palazzo Madama will be joined by pieces from Zadar’s permanent collection, in an ideal path of continuity between the two countries. The exhibition will remain open until 31 May.
