Italy is taking part in the Leipzig Book Fair scheduled from 28 to 30 April 2023 with a stand and an auteur programme. Italy’s presence has been arranged by the Italian Cultural Institute of Berlin, in collaboration with the CICI – Interdisciplinary Centre for Italian Culture; its aim is to draw attention to the diversity of Italy’s literary and cultural scene as well as to the importance of books as an object of cultural exchange.
Italy’s presence at the Fair will also be an opportunity to discover and get to know new Italian publications in the German language, which cover various genres – from literature to non-fiction to children’s books – as well as to meet Italian writers. Indeed, during the Fair, a series of Italian books will be presented and discussed with their respective authors. These include “Veronica und der Teufel. La vera storia di un esorcismo” by Fernanda Alfieri; “Le perfezioni” by Vincenzo Latronico; “Carapax” by Lisa Ginzburg; “Cosa può fare l’Europa – la visione di Erasmo da Rotterdam (1538-1600)” by Lucia Felici.
