Within the framework of the Italian Festival “Tusherekee Italia”, the Italian Embassy in Dar es Salaam collaborated with Qatar Airways and Shambaland to organise a tour in Tanzania for Kalascima, an Italian traditional music group from Apulia, from 2 to 10 June.
Kalascima, a band that boasts important international collaborations, including one with Patti Smith, performed four concerts, including three evenings in Dar es Salaam and one in Zanzibar, with great participation from the local audience.
In thanking the Italian Community residing in Tanzania for having made an important contribution to the success of the initiative, Ambassador Marco Lombardi placed particular emphasis on the fact that Kalascima’s tour had contributed to keeping the Tanzanian public’s attention high towards Italy and creating opportunities for new collaborations in the cultural sphere between Italy and Tanzania.
