The 23rd Week of Italian Language in the World, with this year’s theme being “Italian and Sustainability”, is also being celebrated in Croatia. The diverse and rich programme is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Zagreb, the Consulate General of Italy in Rijeka, the Italian Studies Departments of Croatian universities, the committees of the Dante Alighieri Society in Croatia, and various public schools where the Italian language is taught.

The event kicked off in Split with the concert “Matija plays Sergio Endrigo” by jazz pianist Matija Dedić, organised by the Dante Alighieri Society of Split. The Week continues with several lectures and seminars.

At the Cultural Institute of Zagreb, the Italian Ambassador Pierfrancesco Sacco will open the awards ceremony of the Competition of the 23rd Week of Italian Language in Croatia. The rich programme of events will end on 25 October with a concert by composer and saxophonist Marco Castelli and readings of texts by Italo Calvino by actor Adriano Giraldi at Klub Urania in Zagreb.
