On the occasion of the Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World, the Italian Embassy in Algiers has devised a programme full of activities to present and illustrate the Italian culinary and gastronomic tradition. Guest of honour will be Chef Giuseppe D’Alessio of the Settimo restaurant in Rome.
The events were organised together with the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Trade Agency – ICE with the aim of enhancing the Italian gastronomic scenario, which is internationally recognised as one of the indelible marks of Italy in the world, in a friendly Mediterranean country. In addition, thanks to the direct involvement of the Algerian authorities, a collaboration has been set up with several Algerian public and private restaurants and events have been promoted in the national School of Hospitality and Catering “ESHRA” as well as in the Italian school “Roma” and in a public school in the heart of the Casbah of Algiers.
The programme was completed by a television interview on the economic channel Al-Iktisadia with the Italian Ambassador to Algeria, Giovanni Pugliese, and a cooking show on the popular national television programme Samira TV to share some of the secrets of the most important traditional Italian recipes with the Algerian public.
