Italy’s Ambassador to Ghana Daniela d’Orlandi and the Director of the ICE Office in Accra Alessandro Gerbino celebrated the eighth edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World with the event “Italian Taste“, organized at the Ambassador’s Residence in order to promote the Italian excellence of wine production and its culinary heritage. The opening night was attended by the Minister for Traditional and Religious Affairs, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, and the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Elizabeth Sackey, and numerous guests.
A tasting of some of the most renowned Italian wines took place, in collaboration with the main importers of Italian wine in Ghana and representative wineries from different of our regions: from Brunello di Montalcino to Amarone della Valpolicella, from Dogal grande cuvée millesimato to Barbaresco, from Nebbiolo to Nero d’Avola. Chef Carmelo Maurizio Sapone together with some local chefs also delighted the palate of diners with traditional Italian dishes. A total of 9 partners from the wine and catering sectors contributed to the evening.
