In collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture, Fondazione Sinfonia, the Eduardo Brito National Theatre and the Italian National Music Council (CIDIM), the Italian Embassy in the Dominican Republic organised and presented in Santo Domingo the concert “A DOS PIANOS”, as performed by the duo of Italian pianists Paola Biondi and Debora Brunialti.

The audience present in the Eduardo Brito Theatre – whose 1,500-seat hall was sold out – showed its appreciation, stressed a press release, “for the great stage presence of these two pianists, who masterfully represent the unmistakable Italian style on the global stage”. Present at the event were Dominican government authorities, the diplomatic corps, a qualified local audience, and many representatives of the Italian community.

The extraordinary public response is part of a fruitful collaboration of the Embassy, the bilateral Chamber of Commerce, and Casa d’Italia with the country’s top cultural institutions, which has already led to the performance of Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, and which “remains aimed at providing Santo Domingo’s qualified audience with at least one occasion a year, drawn from the classic Italian repertoire”.

The “A DOS PIANOS” concert, you finally read, “was not only a tribute to Italy’s cultural richness, but also a manifestation of its ongoing commitment to the promotion and dissemination of quality classical music”. The Italian Embassy and its staff thank all those present and all the entities involved “for making this evening a memorable tribute to the artistic excellence of our country, as well as to the depth of the Italian-Dominican cultural relationship”.
