The Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo presents the exhibition “ Hugo Pratt. L’eredità, l’opera e la biografia“ (Hugo Pratt. The Legacy, the Work and the Biography), which will open on 18 January until 22 March 2024. The Norwegian capital is the third stop – after Vlore (Albania) and Pula (Croatia) – of the travelling exhibition dedicated to Hugo Pratt promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with Cong Sa, the company founded by Pratt himself that manages and promotes his artistic heritage. It takes the form of an immersion in the fantasy world of the prestigious cartoonist and his best-known character, Corto Maltese.
The opening ceremony will also be attended by Jon Rognlien, the Norwegian translator of all the books of the Corto Maltese series, and by the publisher Alexander Leborg.
The scenographic itinerary designed for the exhibition is, in particular, an invitation to travel through the places of Pratt, first, and then of Corto Maltese, from Europe to Africa, from South America to Asia. Encounters, literary references, author and character biographies come together to create a unique representation of one of the masters of Italian art.
