The Special Envoy for the Caribbean Countries of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Uberto Vanni d’Archirafi, went on a second mission to the Caribbean region to hold institutional meetings aimed at consolidating Italy’s relations with the countries of the region. The envoy also attended the 29th Ministerial Council of the Association of Caribbean States (ASC/AEC), held in Suriname, and the 4th International Conference on SIDS in Antigua and Barbuda.
The mission reaffirmed the process for strengthening bilateral relations with the Caribbean region with a focus on cooperation in the scientific, technological and academic fields. Particular emphasis was placed on the issues of climate change and its consequences for the economies of the partner countries.
