For the third consecutive year, Palazzo Metternich, seat of the Italian Embassy in Vienna, hosted the press conference to present the 2024/2025 opera season of Teatro alla Scala.
In his welcome address to the guests, Ambassador Pugliese pointed out that music is a common heritage of Italy and Austria, both of which are cradles and sources of inspiration for great composers, musicians and conductors. The Superintendent and Artistic Director of the Fondazione Teatro alla Scala, Dominque Meyer, illustrated to the ‘large audience present in the auditorium the varied programme of the forthcoming session, emphasising – in particular – the journey through works from the 17th and 18th centuries until the contemporary ones and two great returns: La forza del destino, one of Giuseppe Verdi’s most complex creations, which will open the season on 7 December, and Bellini’s Norma, which has been missing from the Milanese theatre since 1977″.
The event featured the performance of Nadine Sierra with two arias from Traviata.
