The Italian Embassy and the Delegation of the European Union to the Holy See have announced the 6th edition of the Ambassadors to the Holy See Literary Award. Established six years ago on the initiative of a group of Heads of Mission, the Award is open to authors of books published in Italian and intended for the public on topics related to Christian culture and values, relations between Christian Churches and States, the history of the Churches, and inter-religious dialogue.
Participation is open to books on the above themes that meet the following requirements:
- Having been originally written in Italian (translations are not allowed), even by non-Italian authors.
- Having been published in 2024.
- Being intended for the public.
The winner will be awarded a prize worth EUR 1,500.00.
A special mention will also be awarded to a debut author whose book meets the above requirements.
The award ceremony will be held at Palazzo Borromeo, the seat of the Italian Embassy to the Holy See, in the summer of 2025.
Applications may be submitted by publishers and/or directly by authors and must be sent by email to amb.scv@esteri.it no later than 31 January 2025. In addition, 2 copies of the candidate books must also be sent no later than 31 January 2025 (the date of the postmark will be taken as proof) to the following address:
