This morning, in Sulaymaniyah, the second city of the Autonomous Region of Iraqi Kurdistan, known for its lively cultural tradition, the Consul General of Italy in Erbil, Michele Camerota, presented the young pupils of the Al-Jawahiri primary school with 100 illustrated books,of “Pimpa travels throughout Italy” in Arabic.
The initiative, promoted by the Foreign Ministry’s Directorate General for the Country System, and created in collaboration with the well-known Franco Cosimo Panini publishing house, aims to spread and make known to a young audience Italy’s historical, architectural, gastronomic and landscape beauties, recounting Pimpa’s journey throughout our country and its territories.
While recalling that a similar initiative took place in Erbil at the Mar Qaradakh school last year, Consul Camerota thanked the school’s Principal, Pakiza Al Zangana, and the Governor of Sulaymaniyah, Haval Abubakir, who was present at the event, for the warm hospitality extended to him and for having enthusiastically welcome the initiative, thus bearing witness to the excellent friendship relations that bind Iraqi Kurdistan to Italy.
