The 21st edition of the Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie was inaugurated – an event organised with the support of the Italian Embassy in Monte Carlo.

Once again, the Festival will take place in the prestigious venue of the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo, where screenings and meetings with the most beloved stars of international cinema will alternate in the various halls. It will culminate with the customary “Awards Gala” evening at the Grimaldi Forum on Saturday 30 November.

An international jury will judge the films in competition, consisting of a President, namely French actress Anne Brochet, winner of the César Award for Best Supporting Actress for Tous les matins du Monde, Federica Sabatini, the star of the TV series Suburra, Suburræterna, Red Mirror and the eagerly awaited Prophecy, Ricky Memphis, (The Immature, Vacanze di Natale a Cortina, The Move of the Penguin, Everything Asks for Salvation, Ultra), and Andrea Ferreol, the well-known French actress who was Marco Ferreri’s muse for The Grand Bouffe, Francois Truffaut’s The Last Metro (nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the César Award) and Carlo Verdone’s I’m Crazy About Iris Blond, for which she received a nomination for the David di Donatello in 1997.

The Festival will end with the gala evening on Saturday 30 November, which this year will have Prince Albert II of Monaco as guest of honour. The evening will be hosted by the President and creator of the kermesse, Ezio Greggio, who will award the competing films together with friends and colleagues from the world of TV and cinema.
