On 30 January, the Italian Embassy in Prague hosted the ‘New Year Opening Reception 2025’ of the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CAMIC), a traditional appointment to inaugurate the new year of activity in the presence of numerous Chamber members and institutional guests.
Ambassador of Italy to the Czech Republic Mauro Marsili opened the reception, announcing that the extraordinary operational synergy between the Embassy of Italy and the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be further strengthened in 2025, with the aim of promoting and strengthening Sistema Italia.
Danilo Manghi, President of CAMIC, remarked that “besides carrying out traditional activities for the benefit of our members, we are determined to invest resources in ambitious projects, focusing on topics with a high know-how content that are strategic for stimulating competitiveness.”
The Chamber intends to foster strategic partnerships between Italian and Czech companies in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, automotive, aerospace and healthcare in cooperation with Italian and Czech institutions.
During the event, the Distintivi d’Oro badges, which the Chamber has been awarding since 2004 to personalities particularly active in the development of relations between the Czech Republic and Italy, were presented. Receiving the award were Nazario Pagano for his valuable contribution to the development of relations between Italy and the Czech Republic and for the extraordinary support and helpfulness shown to the Chamber in his capacity as President of the Bilateral Friendship Section with the Czech Republic of the Italian Parliament, and Leonardo Ferrandino, CEO of the pharmaceutical group Dr. Max, for his contribution to the development of Czech businesses in Italy and the strengthening of Italian-Czech relations in the pharmaceutical sector.
During the reception, Prague restaurants Aromi and La Finestra, Ichnusa Botega Bistro, Lore MalaStrana, Sasy.Re and Le Cinque Corone Pizzeria Pulcinella received the Marchio Ospitalità Italiana certificate. “The certification is a global project and is awarded to restaurants that meet the standards of Italian gastronomy abroad, such as the use of Italian raw materials, the presence of Italian-speaking staff and Italian chefs or chefs with work experience gained in Italy,” said CAMIC Secretary General Matteo Mariani.
During the event, CAMIC board member Francesco Augusto Razetto also presented the 2024 Yearbook, whose cover was designed by Czech-Canadian artist David Strauzz.
