Ferzan Özpetek attended the Finnish premiere of “Diamanti”, organised by the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Helsinki, in collaboration with the Italian distribution company Vision Distribution.
The award-winning director engaged with a large Finnish audience during a special screening at Finnkino Maxim, responding to questions from attendees who were well acquainted with his rich cinematic oeuvre.
“Diamanti”, a collective portrait celebrating the talents of women in creative entrepreneurship, deeply moved the Finnish audience.
The film will be distributed across Finland, offering local viewers the opportunity to discover a story that also showcases the exceptional professionals contributing to the Italian film industry. It provides a chance to appreciate the talent of the 18 actresses involved, in a narrative that spans the most creative and vibrant years of Italian cinema and theatre.
The event formed part of Helsinki’s celebrations of Made in Italy and Italian craftsmanship in the fashion sector, bridging artisanal skills and industry, and included the participation of local operators engaged in the promotion and trade of Italian fashion. Following the screening, a reception was hosted at the historic Residence by Ambassador Nicola Todaro Marescotti, bringing together artists and young Italian entrepreneurs active in Finland’s creative industries.
