The fifth edition of the Italian–Polish Aerospace Forum was held in Warsaw on 29 October. The event was organised by the Embassy of Italy in Poland, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Poland (CCIIP), with the strategic partnership of Leonardo. The Forum brought together senior representatives from government institutions, the armed forces, the private sector, think tanks, academia and research bodies from both countries, underscoring the growing interlinkages between the political, economic and security dimensions of the aerospace field.

Opening the proceedings, the Ambassador of Italy to Poland, Luca Franchetti Pardo, emphasised that “now more than ever, a holistic approach to security and defence is needed, at a time when the civil and military dimensions are increasingly integrated, giving rise to a resilient system in which all sectors of society contribute to the collective pursuit of shared security”. The participation of high-level guests – including Marta Ewa Wachowicz, President of the Polish Space Agency (POLSA); Guglielmo Picchi, President of SACE; Major General Ireneusz Nowak, Deputy of General Commander of the Polish Armed Forces; and Hon. Emanuele Loperfido, member of the Defence Committee of the Italian Chamber of Deputies – confirmed the strong commitment of both Italian and Polish authorities to further deepening bilateral cooperation.

Discussions throughout the day focused on joint efforts for Europe’s collective security, the new challenges of the space domain from a European standpoint, and the impact of emerging technologies, including unmanned systems, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Now in its fifth edition, the Forum has consolidated its role as a key platform for dialogue and cooperation, bringing together experts, business leaders and institutional representatives, and reflecting the vast potential for partnership between Italy and Poland in the fast-evolving and strategically vital aerospace sector.
