Launched on June 8, 2020, following a consultation process involving more than 145 trade associations from the major national production sectors, and signed by over 46 entities including Ministries, business representatives and export support organizations, the Pact for Export is the new strategy of public support for exports conceived by the Italian Foreign Ministry with the aim of supporting companies faced with the consequences of the pandemic crisis, providing them with the tools they need to increase their competitiveness, to benefit from the post-pandemic recovery and to counter the effects of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
The Pact for Export consists of six pillars:
- Communication
- Training/Information
- E-commerce
- Exhibition system
- Integrated promotion
- Concessional finance
The resources allocated so far for implementing the Export Pact exceed 7.2 billion euros. These resources have contributed to the recovery of exports after the decrease recorded in 2020: in 2021 Italian exports reached 516 billion euros, not only up by 18% compared to 2020, but also by 40 billion euros compared to 2019.
