Increasing Italy’s presence in foreign markets is one of the main missions of the Foreign Ministry, which is constantly committed to favouring the greatest success of Italian companies abroad, thus contributing to the country’s growth.
With a view to fulfilling this task, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the General Directorate for the Promotion of the Country System, in particular, provides operators with multiple tools, instruments and activities.
Business Support – Actions taken by the Central Administration and its offices abroad, towards foreign governments and International Organisations, aimed at supporting the interests of the Italian entrepreneurial system in penetrating markets; in acquiring contracts and orders; in making investment; in managing problematic issues, as well as participating in international economic and trade negotiations.
Coordination and promotion of internationalisation initiatives – Organisation, jointly with the other players involved in companies’ internationalisation, of promotional events such as, in particular: economic operators’ missions into the markets providing the greatest opportunities, Country Presentations in Italy; Business Forums in Italy and abroad, Study Tours of foreign institutional and business delegations; B2B meetings.
Information: real-time news on the characteristics and opportunities of foreign markets, orders and tenders; systemic initiatives through completely free IT tools accessible from the website of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Analysis: study of the evolutionary trends of the international economic system and of the individual foreign markets to foster correct geo-sectoral matching in business strategies; analytical and statistical processing of foreign trade data and trends and of Italy’s sectoral trade, broken down by areas, countries of origin and destination, by the Economic Observatory
