EDINBURGH – Italo-Scottish research centre on bilateral relations and emigration

The Italo-Scottish Research Centre (IRSC) has been created in Edinburgh as an interdisciplinary centre for the study of Italian emigration to Scotland and bilateral relations between the two countries. The centre was promoted by the Department of Italian Studies of the University of Edinburgh, and is directed by Prof. Federica Pedriali. It operates in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute and the support of the Scottish Parliament, the Consulate General in Edinburgh, the Italo-Scottish community and other major institutions and other public and private research centres. The project for the centre was one of 4 winners (out of 33 proposals) of £40,000 in funding from the ‘Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland’.
