Montevideo – Biennale reveals relationship between the South and modernity

The relationship between the South of the world and modernity is the theme explored by the Montevideo Biennale, which opened on 22 November under the auspices of the highest Uruguayan authorities. “El gran Sur” was mounted with the collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute in Montevideo and displays the work of over 50 artists from around the world, including a substantial selection from the Italian contemporary panorama, and will remain open through 30 March 2013.
