Moscow: Galileo’s telescope – Italy’s spheres of excellence

Astronomy as one of the oldest and most valuable of Italy’s spheres of excellence. That is the focus of an exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Moscow of two “works” that gave life to the new science and revolutionised our way of studying the Universe: Galileo’s telescope and the revolutionary “Sidereus Nuncius”, a text dating from 1610. The initiative is part of “Exhibitaly”, a government-supported event to promote the “Made in Italy” brand in the Russian Federation. The exhibition will close on 6 January 2013.
