Madrid celebrates Rita Levi-Montalcini, winner of the Nobel Prize for Medicine, with a commemoration organised by the Italian Embassy on the eve of what would have been her 104th birthday. The event, organised in collaboration with the Mensajeros de la Paz association, was intended to highlight not just this extraordinary women but also the ample scope for scientific collaboration between Italy and Spain.
Participants included the former Israeli foreign minister and Camp David negotiator, Shlomo Ben Ami; Giuseppina Tripodi, director of the Fondazione Levi-Montalcini Onlus; and Pietro Calissano, president of the European Brain Research Institute (EBRI). The Italian Ambassador, Pietro Sebastiani, underscored Rita Levi-Montalcini’s “life-lesson of science and solidarity”. Read more, in Italian.
