Israel to host the Innovative Water Technologies fair in October


Tel Aviv will be the setting for the 2013 International WATEC (Innovative Water Technologies) Conference from 22 to 24 October. The event, which will include a display area, aims to involve businesses, policy-makers and researchers in discussions on the most important technological innovations existing in the world today in response to the growing need for the sustainable exploitation of the environment, and water resources in particular. The display area will feature the products of a wide range of sector firms.

USA: Boeing completes the first Dreamliner


According to a company press release, Boeing has completed its first 787-9 “Dreamliner” at its Everett plant, where plans are to have it flying by the end of the summer. The plane is larger and faster that previous models, and second and third examples are in the final assembly stage. Alenia Aermacchi (Finmeccanica group) participated in the programme.

Argentina announces new plan to reimburse residual bonds


Agentina’s president Cristina Kirchner announced the launch of a third debt restructuring plan involving stock swaps for a full 7% of the “tango bonds” that were not part of the previous restructuring plans put in place after the 2001 default.

Germany: Buzzi completes Dyckerhoff acquisition

Spain: recession cuts 2012 GDP 1.6%


The 2012 recession in Spain was revealed to have been more extensive than had earlier been announced: final estimates show a drop of 1.6% in GDP, as opposed to the previously projected 1.4%
