This was Foreign Minister Emma Bonino’s commenton the tax agreement between Italy and Switzerland after a meeting with her Swiss colleague, Didier Bulkhater, in Berne.
“The important thing is to say this evening that we’re beginning a dialogue on the entire package. Because our final aim is to find a solution to all 6 points, including the double taxation agreement and access to the European market”, commentedthe Swiss Foreign Minister.
Expo 2015: we appreciate the Swiss decision to take part, says Bonino
The discussion provided an opportunity to exchange opinions on bilateral cooperation in general in the run-up toExpo 2015, but also on sectors such as transport infrastructure, energy supply and fiscal and financial issues. Italy is Switzerland’s third most important commercial partner, after Germany and the USA, with trade amounting to 33.8 million Swiss francs (over 27 billion euros) in 2012.
This was the first meeting between Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter and Foreign Minister Emma Bonino, who expressed their satisfaction over the extremely close and wide-ranging relations between their two countries. “We appreciate the Swiss decision to take part in Expo di Milano 2015”, added Minister Bonino.
