Fondazione Italia-USA announced the winners of the 2013 edition of the America Prize, who include Minister for Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino. On 3 October she will accept the award in the Chamber of Deputies (Lower House) along with the other winners: former governor of Iraq Paul Bremer, President of the Damiani Group Guido Damiani, President of Eataly Oscar Farinetti, designer Carla Fendi, journalist and writer Gianni Riotta, film producer Enrico Vanzina and President of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) John Viola; a special award will also go the commemorate lyric artist Luciano Pavarotti, which will be accepted by Nicoletta Mantovani.
Other acknowledgements will include three institutional medals to as many American universitystudents: Anna Carlson, Cristina Cavalieri and Russell Gonzalez.
The ceremony for awarding the prize, created by master goldsmith Gerardo Sacco, will be presented by journalist Michele Cucuzza, with an introduction by the President of Fondazione Italia-USA Lucio D’Ubaldo.
