Lodz – Performance by Ascanio Celestini

Ascanio Celestini’s theatre presentation “Saccarina, cinque al soldo” will make a stop in Lodz for the 70th anniversary of the liquidation of the ghetto of that Polish city. The spectacle will be staged on 30 August at the Nowy Teatr, and consists of a tale for voices and music that begins with the cries of the children at the market and crosses the history of two distant places – Lodz and Rome – and of the places and persons who lived 70 years ago during the Second World War.
