Dei/Sole 24 Ore – Asia-Europe: business community’s goal is to reduce protectionism

The entrepreneurs who attended the 14th Asia-Europe Business Forum in Milan, organised this year by Confindustria and BusinessEurope, closed their meeting with a statement. The document containing the recommendations of the European and Asian business communities was handed over to the political leaders by Emma Marcegaglia, current President of BusinessEurope.

The entrepreneurs’ goal is to improve commercial relations and economic integration between European and Asia. Key recommendations concern the policies that should guarantee, facilitate and increase the efficiency of trade and investment worldwide. Examples include creating stable macro-economic situations, combating protectionist tendencies, firmly supporting the World Trade Organisation and encouraging the ASEM countries to joint said Organisation.
