British Al Jazeera correspondent Barbara Serra, of Sardinian descent, was among the winners of the “Talented Young Italians” awards conferred this evening by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the United Kingdom, in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in London. This first edition of the event was also the official opening of the 36th edition of the annual conference of chambers of commerce, where Italian Minister for the Economy Pier Carlo Padoan will be participating tomorrow in a conversation on stage with Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne. Prizes were awarded at Church House, a few steps from Westminster, in four categories: “finance and services, “industry and trade”, “research and innovation” and “media and communication”. Ambassador of Italy Pasquale Terracciano congratulated the winners, saying that “these young people are the stem cells of our country”. Read more, in Italian.
