“International harmonisation instruments in the commercial field: an opportunity to modernise the Italian system and open it up to investment within the framework of European Union law”. That is the title of a discussion day that will take place on 15 December 2014 in the Aldo Moro hall at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
EU: modernisation and investment-readiness for the Italian system
The aim of the Discussion Day is to examine the opportunities that these measures offer to modernise the Italian system and open it up to investment within the framework of European Union law. The event is being organised under the Italian Presidency of the EU Council. Indeed, encouraging European measures and policies to revitalise member states’ economies and open up their markets to international trade is one of Italy’s Presidency objectives.
The Farnesina intends to offer its own tangible input by illustrating the results obtained in multilateral negotiations to modernise domestic legal systems and develop trade. One goal is to open up a debate with all key actors on how Italy can implement the elements of greatest interest to our country.
Insolvency, assisted finance, commercial arbitration and e-commerce.
Four macro-areas will be discussed during the Discussion Day on 15 December. They are: insolvency, assisted finance, commercial arbitration and e-commerce. Representatives of the ministries most closely concerned, business organisations, the academic community, the EU Commission and the European embassies in Rome have all been involved.
