The Czech Republic bid adieu to the Italian Presidency of the Council of the EU with a concert by violinist Vaclav Hudecek. “This concert by one of the most renowned violinists on the international musical stage, who performed works by Tartini, Dvorak and Paganini, closed the Italian presidency with brilliant energy”, stated ambassador of Italy to the Czech Republic Aldo Amati, who also expressed a series of strategic considerations. “Despite the European elections and the complex institutional transition from one Commission to another, Italy has been able to leave an important imprint on the past six months, during which it has succeeded in strengthening and Europeanising border controls in the face of an incessant influx of refugees by launching new forms of cooperation with their countries of origin and transit”.
