According to estimates by the Canadian Ferry Operators Association (CFOA), operators plan to invest about 1 billion Canadian dollars (equating to around 724 million euro) over the next 5 years. The country’s ferry operators currently carry 53 million passengers and 18 million vehicles each year. Indeed, ferries are commonly used in Canada, especially to reach coastal and island communities. In some cases, such as Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, they are the main (sometimes the only) means of communication with the rest of the country.
Up-to date information on companies’ plans will be available at the CFOA Conference 2015, taking place in Vancouver from 13 to 15 September (see also the conference website http://www.cfoa.ca/conference). Source: infoMercatiEsteri.
