Romania – Discovering the Italian community on “The Road to Arad”

“The Road to Arad – a journey in a border land”, a historical-cultural project organised with the collaboration of Radio Rai, Radio Vaticana and Radio Romania, runs from 28 August to 4 September 2015 in Romania. The topic was chosen by the international Italian-speaking broadcasting community in 2015, to celebrate its 30th year. Cited as an example of cultural diplomacy during Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni’s recent visit to Bucharest, the project will unfold in the region with the highest concentration of Italian businesses in Romania, Arad-Timisoara. It examines the importance of this region to Italians and its historic, ethnic and religious “layers”, and was organised in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Bucharest and with the support of the Italian Honorary Consul in Arad.
