The deadline to submit the expression of interest and related paperwork for the prequalification tender for the electromechanical part of 10 horizontal silos has been postponed until 17 January 2016. The tender was launched by the Ministry of Supply’s Egyptian Holding Company for Silos & Storage with an initial deadline of 2 December 2015. The value of the electromechanical component is an estimated 6.5 million dollars.
The project is part of the debt conversion programme of which the Ministry of Supply is the principal beneficiary in the food and nutrition sector, with 45 million dollars out of a total 100 million. As part of this allocation the first initiative is the construction of 10 horizontal silos in 5 sites, for an overall storage capacity of 200,000 tons. The total value of the project is 17 million dollars, divided into 2 components: civil works and the supply and installation of the electromechanical part.
