Students at Italian high schools abroad specialising in the arts will be allowed to take part in the 7th national competition “NewDesignduemilasedici – Creativity in Italian Arts Education”. The decision was taken by the Italian Education and Foreign ministries as part of Foreign Ministry’ efforts to coordinate the promotion of Italian design and the country’s most creativity-intensive economic, commercial and cultural sectors. The competition aims to promote and encourage design and innovative skills of young talents and envisages drawing up and completing projects on the theme “#insieme per oggetti, immagini e spazi del quotidiano” (#together for everyday objects, images and spaces). Students in the last three years at the Leonardo da Vinci High School in Bogota, the Antonio Raimondi High School in Lima and the Freudenberg High School in Zurich will now be able to compete. The winners will be invited to Venice for the October Architecture Biennale, where they will receive their awards and visit the exhibition of prototypes, being held concomitantly with the 16th International Italian Language Week devoted to “Italians and creativity: brands and costumes, fashion and design”.
