Composer and pianist Giovanni Allevi will make his debut in Indonesia performing live at Usmar Ismail Hall (PPHUI) in Jakarta, on 8 April. The concert is organized by the Embassy of Italy in Jakarta and the city’s Italian Institute of Culture (IIC). Maestro Allevi will meet students of the “Ananda Sukarlan Center” Conservatory on 7 April at the concert hall of the IIC. The Ananda Sukarlan Center helps young underprivileged talents to pursue their education. The meeting will be attended also by the school’s founder, Indonesia’s most prominent composer Ananda Sukarlan. In consideration of the contribution both Allevi and Sukarlan give through their music to humanitarian and social actions aimed at improving living conditions for children in developing countries, the concert will enjoy the support of the United Nations, WHO and the U.N. Information Center in Jakarta on the occasion of the World Health Day, which is celebrated on 7 April.
