A large audience gathered to attend the opening of “Ciao Bucarest. Italian influences in Bucarest”, a photography exhibition organised by the Italian Embassy in the Romanian capital, in the prestigious National Museum of Art of Romania. The show, which is part of the events organised to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Republic on 2nd June, is intended to focus on the contribution given by Italian talents to Romania, as reflected in the architecture and urban landscape of Bucarest, from the eighteenth century to the present day. More specifically, the project is meant to take visitors on a tour of the city, identifying Italian architectural influences along the way. The show is accompanied by a publication containing a selection of photos and a website (www.ciaobucarest.ro). It is a free exhibition which will run till 15th August. Ambassador Diego Brasioli held an official reception to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Republic. Many representatives of Romanian institutions (including the speaker of the Romanian parliament Valeriu Zgonea and the minister of Foreign Affairs Lazar Comanescu) and the diplomatic corps, as well as members of the Italian entrepreneurial, social and cultural community in Romania attended the reception. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis was the Guest of Honor at the reception.
