Also the Italian Consulate General in La Plata has joined the “M’illumino di meno” (“Less Lighting”) initiative promoted by Radio RAI 2’s “Caterpillar” programme, now at its 13th edition. The initiative, which is aimed at celebrating next 24 February a day dedicated to raising public awareness on energy saving, is organised under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, the High Patronage of the European Parliament, the Patronage of the Senate of the Republic and of the Chamber of Deputies, and in partnership with the Minister of the Environment, the Minister of Education, and the Minister of Transport. The Italian Consulate General in La Plata has launched an awareness raising campaign on the importance of energy saving targeting its own staff, the personnel of the associated Honorary Offices, Italian schools, associations and more generally all Italian citizens. In addition, within the framework of the “Farnesina Verde” environmental strategy launched by the Italian Foreign Ministry, in 2016 the Consulate also upgraded its lighting system by replacing all its light-bulbs with LEDs and energy saving light bulbs.
