“The Extraordinary Italian Taste” is the title of the event to be held at the Italian Embassy in Beijing on 15 March, dedicated to the protection and promotion of Italian PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) products in China. The event is organised by the Italian Embassy in association with ICE-Agency for the internationalisation and the promotion of Italian companies abroad and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China.
The event – which is sponsored by the Delegation of the European Union in Beijing – falls on “World Consumer Rights Day”, the annual day for the protection of consumer rights which has been celebrated on 15 March since 1983. The event will be held in the Auditorium of the Embassy and envisages three main sections: from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the legal workshop on the protection of PGIs in China; from 2 to 5 p.m., a conference on the same topic based on the comparison of several different experiences and, from 5 to 6 p.m., “I Love Italian GIs”, a session to promote and taste Italian PDO and PGI products.
