South Korea – Marva Griffin special guest in Seoul for Italian Design Day

Special guest in Seoul for Italian Design Day is Marva Griffin, the founder in 1998 of SaloneSatellite within the framework of the Salone del Mobile of Milan. SaloneSatellite has now become a point of reference, a place to meet and exchange ideas between entrepreneurs and new talents, thus performing the work of a real talent scout. It has also lent a hand to young talents, their enthusiasm and the skills. In April, SaloneSatellite will turn 20.

Marva Griffin will moderate a round table on the topic of Italy as the motherland of design, Made in Italy products, Salone del Mobile/SaloneSatellite. The debate will be conducted with two Korean guest stars: the young and emerging creative Jaehyuk Yang, the founder to the UMZIKIM brand, and the Dean of the Faculty of Design in Kookmin University, Prof Kyung Ran Choi, who curated the latest edition of the Gwangju Design Biennale and who has a very close ties with the Italian world of design.

The event, which is aimed at promoting Italian culture in Korea, is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul and the office of the Foreign Ministry, in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Korea, the Triennale di Milano, ICE-Agenzia, Salone del Mobile Milano, the Seoul Design Foundation, the Design House, Kookmin University, and Kaywon University of Art & Design.
