The Italy-ASEAN Week will be celebrated from 20 to 26 November. The Italy-ASEAN Week is a broad-reaching promotional activity dedicated to a fast-growing Area, launched with a view to integrating promotional activities, which is scheduled to coincide with the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World.
The initiative will be promoted by the Italian diplomatic and consular offices and Cultural Institutes in partnership with the Offices of the ICE-Agency in the Area: 7 Embassies – in Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Singapore, Yangon – 2 Italian Cultural Institutes – in Jakarta and Singapore – 5 Offices of the ICE-Agency, in Bangkok, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore.
The Week, to be promoted under a single logo, envisages 60 events in the different sectors of the “Italian Way of Life”. Just to make a couple of examples, Bangkok will host an exhibition entitled “Italian Interiors” by photographer Massimo Listri; Singapore will host the second edition of “Italian Innovation Days”; Jakarta, a concert to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of Maestro Luciano Pavarotti, co-organised by the Italian Cultural Institute and the Pavarotti Foundation; Kuala Lumpur, a dance performance entitled “Attacchi di pane”(“Bread Attacks”); Hanoi, a conference on the scientific and technological cooperation between Italy and Vietnam and the opening of an “Italian Fair”, in a square in the city’s historic centre, renamed “Piazza Italia” for the occasion; Manila, a bilingual photographic exhibition entitled: “Pellegrino Artusi and the Unity of Italy in the Kitchen”.
