Italy’s Economic Diplomacy, 2 April: latest news from the world

Expo 2020 Dubai – Call for Proposals open to all suppliers of the best construction, plant engineering and technological components and to become Technical Partners of Italy Pavilion.

Invitalia, on behalf of the General Commissioner for Italy’s participation to Expo 2020 Dubai, has published a Request for Proposal (RFP) aimed at selecting Technical Partners among entrepreneurs, public agencies and research institutes, also in consortium with enterprises, representing Italian know-how and the most advanced and sustainable technological innovation, who will be able to directly take part in building the Italy Pavilion through the different forms of contributions laid down by the applicable legislation described in the tender documentation.

The RFP follows up on the result of the International Tender and the adjudication of the Italy Pavilion Project for Expo 2020 Dubai published on the Commissioner’s Concept website and the first images rendered, and is open to all suppliers interested in participating and becoming Technical Partners.

As envisaged by the winning project, the Italy Pavilion will be an Innovation Hub giving a creative and innovative interpretation of the theme chosen by Italy, “Beauty Unites People”, with a structure that is not only an exhibition space but also a showcase of Italy’s best ingenuity, offering a memorable experience to visitors and showing to the world Italian know-how, talent and multidisciplinary ingeniousness, thus promoting new training, professional and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Through this RFP, the Italy Pavilion will be realised with the contribution of Technical Partners called on to supply the best construction, plant engineering, technological and spectacular components, capable of highlighting the most innovative skills currently committed to sustainability, the circular economy and digital architecture.

Annexed to the RFP, the suppliers interested can find the specific product group with a list of the technical specifications that are instrumental to the construction and to putting into operation the Italy Pavilion. Thanks to these contributions, the Technical Partners of the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai will be able to capitalise on a global showcase, unique in terms of reputation and brand building, acquire great visibility on external, internal and virtual spaces and engage in co-marketing and B2B and B2C activities during the six-month duration of the Expo, which is forecast to receive 25 million visitors from all over the world.

The procedure is entirely managed through Invitalia’s online e-procurement platform, where it is possible to access all the information on the terms, cooperation systems and specific aspects, including the evaluation criteria used for the proposals submitted and for assigning technical partnership contracts.

The final deadline to submit proposals, that are binding for the suppliers applying for the RFP, is set at 6 p.m. on 6 May 2019.

The full text and details to apply for the RFP procedure are available on https://gareappalti.invitalia.it/ and https://italyexpo2020.it/.
