A mosaic of events aimed at promoting knowledge of Italian cuisine among the Mexican public and at establishing a continuous dialogue with Mexican culinary traditions that are also on the list of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, interrelated themes such as: respect for the authenticity of ingredients, educating on the originality of products to fight the “Italian sounding” phenomenon, promoting the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet and disseminating information on a high-quality culinary tradition as the key component of the Italian Way of Life and of the “togetherness” culture. All the events organised –– from the Italian Cocktails Cycle to the Night of Italian Historical Gastronomy, a Sensorial Dinner, the Cinema in the Kitchen and ‘Vindimia 2019’ –– were very warmly celebrated both in the media and by the public, especially among the youth.

The Week also launched the “Italia, que gusto!” logo which, starting next year, will be used as the unified trademark for the initiatives promoted by the Italian Embassy in Mexico City and by the other Italian Institutional actors in the different sectors of bilateral promotion and cooperation and, in the future, will support the coming into force of the new EU-Mexico Agreement currently being finalised, aimed at benefiting Italian agribusiness exports.
