The rich panorama of events organized by the Consulate General of Italy in Rosario offered a varied overview of Italian cuisine. The leitmotif was the Mediterranean diet and the impact it has on all aspects of life: health, flavors, traditions, intangible heritage of UNESCO, distinctive elements and the social rituals associated with it, and agritourism in Italy.
The initiative saw the participation of the most popular restaurants in the city of Rosario which offered dedicated menus for the occasion, accompanied by images of Italy and imported Italian products.
The idea of having chosen one of the most organized and modern markets in the city of Rosario as venue for the numerous events in the program was particularly successful. The agenda included an event on olive oil, a lesson on pasta and one on porchetta, as well as the closing event with the participation of the Apulian Chef, Leonardo Fumarola.
This year, the general market of wholesale manufacturers was also involved. They offered an ‘ice cream tour’ of various well-known ice cream parlors and the ‘Italian aperitif tour’ at trendy clubs, frequented by a younger clientele, where negroni and vermouth drinks were prepared.
Finally, taking advantage of the opportunity offered by the event ‘The bookshop night’ and the celebration of Leonardo’s 500th anniversary, an evening dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci’s food and wine interests was planned at a well-known city center bookshop, which was attended by a large audience.
